After Velasquez
This painting shows a woman with psychic energy pouring from her mind.
A ghostly arm is holding a pick axe to help her forge ahead with her spiritual and psychological work.

Dyke on a Metaphysical Grandma
A photograph from Amsterdam inspired this “stacking” of a young body onto an older one. When I was in my 30’s I fell in love with an 86 year old woman, and therefore this rather sculptural painting came into being.
If my studio bursts into flames (for whatever reason) this is the first painting I would try to save.

Upside Down in Grocery Cart
As a child my mother pushed me in shopping carts at the grocery store. I once tore the leaves off of a head of lettuce, thinking I was helping my mother out.
She grabbed the hard white ball that was left and told me, “Hand me that goddamn lettuce head!” This painting shows my mother, herself, upside down in a shopping cart.
